Position Purpose
In partnership with other Center for Program Design and Evaluation ( CPDE ) team members and project stakeholders, implements planning, development, analysis, and dissemination activities related to mixed methods research and program evaluation. Develops and tests data collection instruments, collects and manages primary data, researches and interprets secondary data, conducts qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods data analyses, creates reports, and contributes to other dissemination.

- Experience developing, implementing surveys, collecting data, and data management.
- Advanced user of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Able to draft survey instruments, interview and focus group guides, and other data collection methods.
- Able to analyze quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate software and methods (e.g., statistical tests and coding of qualitative data).
- Experience conducting literature reviews using library and Internet search engines.
- Mastery of the English language and elements of technical writing needed to synthesize and disseminate evaluation results.
- Able to travel on occasion for project meetings and other activities.
- Committed to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
- Three – five years of relevant experience in program evaluation and/or mixed methods research with direct experience working with qualitative and quantitative data. (Candidates selected for an in-person interview will be asked to submit a writing sample and/or an example of recent data-related outputs.)
- Masters degree in a field such as public health, education, clinical evaluative science, medical informatics, or other related fields; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience conducting interviews, focus groups and observation for data collection.
- Experience contributing to formal reports, presentations and technical paper writing.
- Experience with statistical analysis tools such as SAS, SPSS, or STATA, R and qualitative data analysis tools such as Dedoose, nVivo, or Atlas.ti.
- Human subjects research and ethics training and certification, e.g., CITI training.

- Collect and manage primary data and/or incorporate program or other secondary data based on key evaluation questions and guidance from a comprehensive review of the literature. Use instruments (e.g., surveys, interview guides) and collection methods drafted and refined in collaboration with other CPDE team members. Adhere to data security, ethics, and quality protocols for data entry, storage, management (e.g., merge, transpose, link repeated measures), and analysis.

- Support all project management activities as needed, including but not limited to: IRB applications, logic model development, translating program evaluation plans into operational work plans, and creating standardized systems for managing project components or CPDE -wide processes.

- Actively communicate and collaborate with CPDE colleagues, project partners, and key stakeholders (i.e., evaluation participants, research subjects) in a timely, professional, and responsive fashion, keeping a flexible schedule to meet competing demands. Organize meetings and follow-up communications among project participants in conjunction with other team members.
