Assistant Professor in International Business

The Department of International Business and Management (INBM) at Dickinson College seeks a candidate to fill a tenure-track assistant professor of international business position starting in autumn semester 2022.

Dickinson is a highly selective four-year liberal arts college with 2300 students. The campus is in Carlisle, PA, a 20-minute drive west of the state capitol Harrisburg and a two-hour drive from Baltimore, Washington DC and Philadelphia.

The INBM Department has a distinctive curriculum that draws upon and contributes to Dickinson’s core competencies in global education, interdisciplinary studies, sustainability, and community engagement. Each year, roughly ten percent of the senior class graduate with a major in INBM, making it the College’s most popular program.

The successful candidate will handle a five-course teaching load each academic year. Each year, the candidate will be asked to share responsibility for teaching the 200-level core course Global Business: Theory and Context; and to teach at least one elective business-related course based on his/her own research and teaching interest. From year to year, the candidate will also be asked to teach either the 100-level core course Fundamentals of Business or the 400-level Senior Seminar in International Business Strategy based on the need of the department. Starting in the second year of employment, the candidate will be expected to advise students and to engage in other forms of service to the Department and the College.

Candidates must either currently hold or be on track to earn a doctorate or other terminal degree by autumn 2022 in the fields of international business, international management, business administration, strategy, entrepreneurship, international economics, international political economy, or other related areas who can fulfil the above-mentioned teaching obligations.
