Assistant Director of Enrollment Communications

Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management and Director of Graduate Admissions of the Graduate School of Education ( GSE ), the Assistant Director of Enrollment Communications is a highly collaborative role within the Office of Admissions. Within the office and across GSE, the Assistant Director works to create and disseminate content to help GSE meet its admissions goals.

You will work closely with members of the admissions office, program faculty, and other key stakeholders to ensure that timely, audience-specific messaging is delivered to students during every phase of the admissions pipeline. In this position, you will spend considerable time creating content and improving items within the university’s CRM, Slate. You will also work closely with GSE’s Communications & Marketing team to think of new and innovative ways to connect with various audiences who may be interested in graduate programs through GSE .

Key responsibilities:
• Develop and refine comprehensive, segmented communication plans that incorporate multi-channel messaging across the admissions lifecycle.

• Research and analysis of best practices in student communications, student preferences data, competitor strategies, historical data, and oversight of a complex array of messages.

• Manage set-up, test, and launch mass messaging that is visually engaging and functionally sound (email, SMS text, print mailings).

• Respond quickly to ongoing requests from the Assistant Dean, admission colleagues, and other internal stakeholders for ad hoc email and text messaging campaigns, both in terms of content develop, message set-up, and recipient list creation and execution.

• Support a range of admission tasks including recruitment, outreach, admission events, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Familiarity with the principles, practices, and techniques of oral and written communications and interpersonal relationship skills.
• Skill in writing for a variety of audiences and for a variety of media such as email, web, print, and social media.
• Previous hands-on experience working with databases and student information systems, preferably with an admission CRM system (specifically Technolutions SLATE ).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively.
• A commitment to diversity and an appreciation for working with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree
• Higher education experience (e.g. admission, recruitment, communications/marketing)
• Experience with foundational skills in photo and video editing, including optimizing content for social media
• Experience with the development and implementation of print and electronic communication strategies, including familiarity with HTML and CSS .

• Strong attention to detail along with excellent organizational, workflow, and time management skills.

• Experience working with a web content management system.
