Manager - Events Center Operations

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
The UCCU Events Center is seeking an Operations Manager. This role is responsible for managing, supervising and coordinating all physical operations of the UCCU Center, Lockhart Arena, and UCCU Ballpark. This includes all set-up/changeovers, maintenance, and organization of equipment, heavy equipment, and tools. Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree plus one year of experience or a combination of post secondary education and experience equal to three years.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Knowledge of event operations and facility management.
* Knowledge in ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990). Knowledge in compliance and risk management.
* Knowledge in preventative maintenance, maintenance planning and maintenance forecasting.
* Knowledge in mechanical repairs.
* Knowledge in human resource concepts, practices, policies, and procedures.
* Knowledge in event industry safety standards.
* Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop and Auto CAD computer software.
* Knowledge in customer service and a team oriented collaborative environment.
* Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate both in written form and verbally with individuals and groups.
* Effective decision-making skills where a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
* Skills in time management in a fast pace and stressful environment.
* Skills in conflict management techniques.
* Skills in unique mechanical repairs, carpentry, wire feed welding, and other types of welding.
* Willingness to learn design CAD software programs.
* Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
* Ability to manage the operational elements of an entertainment/sporting event facility.
* Ability to think logically, resolve problems, identify tasks, and develop project plans.
* Ability for self-discipline and accountability.
* Ability to lead by example.
* Ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of experience related to summary of duties, or a combination of education and relevant work experience totaling 6 years.

Fork Lift Certification

Physical Requirements:
Requires handling of objects that can weigh up to 25 lbs (or greater mass requiring mechanical assistance). Standing/walking may occur more than 50% of time.

Pay Range: $51,755 - $64,693
