Job Summary: The Department of History and
Politics at the College of St. Scholastica invites applications for
a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Political Science, beginning
September 2022. Areas of specialization in comparative or global
politics and in African and African Diaspora Studies. The
successful candidate will serve as director of the Political
Science Program (major/minor), and should have demonstrated
interests in academic program administration. Teaching expectations
include a range of introductory and advanced courses in comparative
and global politics, in other areas of political science (such as
political theory), and in African and African Diaspora Studies,
including African American history.
Teaching load is three courses per semester (traditional and online formats), with release time for service as program director. In addition to teaching and administrative responsibilities, this position requires research and scholarship, professional activity, and college service.
