Arkansas State University – Beebe, a two-year
residential community college associated with the
Arkansas State University System, invites applications for a
full-time, 12-month, promotion eligible, Instructor and Director of
Pharmacy Technician Assistant program to begin March 2022.
The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of the discipline and teach a variety of Pharmacy Technician (PHT) courses listed here. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining ASHP Accreditation.
The individual hired will:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire for teaching and community engagement rather than research and publishing. Required Education and/or Experience: Associates degree in Pharmacy Technician. Three years experience as a licensed Pharm Tech. One to three years experience teaching. An ability to inspire, motivate, and empower students to succeed. Strong computer and technology skills.
The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of the discipline and teach a variety of Pharmacy Technician (PHT) courses listed here. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining ASHP Accreditation.
The individual hired will:
- Teach credit & non-credit Face to Face, Hybrid, Online, Zoom, and Zoom Hybrid course offerings as needed. Evening and Weekend courses may be appropriate.
- Teach our satellite locations as needed.
- Recruit and admit students to have an annual program enrollment of at least 25 students.
- Promote Prior Learning Assessment (PLA).
- Participate in all registration and open registration events.
- Advise all PHT students and students across other Math & Science disciplines.
- Serve as ASHP Accreditation liaison ensuring the program meets all ASHP Accreditation requirements.
- Establish PHT internship partnerships with local, regional, and institutional organizations.
- Establish a Pharmacy Technician Program Advisory Council and meet at least twice an academic year.
- Assist with career services and job placement.
- Manage and establish the Pharm Tech budget.
- Participate in course and program assessment.
- Serve on institutional committees.
