Assistant Professor of Computer Science

The Department of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science at Springfield College invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science.  This is an exciting time to join the MPCS department. MPCS is seeking dynamic individuals who are dedicated to teaching with a strong interest in curriculum development, and seeks a highly collaborative and creative environment.  MPCS currently offers majors in Computer and Information Sciences as well as Mathematics and Computer Technology as well as two interdisciplinary majors in Computer Science Plus Criminal Justice and Computer Science plus English.  The department partners with other numerous disciplines for the majors of Computer Graphics and Digital Art we well as Computer Technology education.  Aside from these majors, MPCS also delivers minors in computer science, programming, web design and animation. Springfield College is highly interested in areas of growth for these programs and seeks colleagues with a forward-looking vision in these ever-evolving fields.  To this end, we welcome applicants from any discipline in the computer science realm. The main role of the successful candidates will be to teach 12 credits per semester in the department.  Scholarship and contributions to the professional community are expected, and preference will be given to candidates who can strive to incorporate undergraduates into their respective scholarly work.

Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational Science or related field. College level teaching experience, and an active research agenda or evidence of research potential is preferred. ABD candidates are welcome to apply.
