Job Description Summary: Administers
all student financial aid programs, including maintaining
accountability for all funds in accordance with federal, state, and
University regulations. Reports to the Vice President of Enrollment
Management.

traditional campuses.
Essential Duties:
- Directs the processing of all financial aid applications at the main campus and at other site locations.
- Selects, trains, supervises, evaluates, and develops full-time and part-time staff.
- Plans, formulates, and recommends for the approval of the Vice President of Enrollment Management institutional and departmental policy.
- Gives guidance to staff on matters of financial aid programs, budgets, and federal and state legislation.
- Oversees the advising and counseling of all students regarding availability of financial aid resources, rules, regulations pertaining to the receipt of all types of aid, and student’s rights and responsibilities regarding compliance with state, federal, and institutional policies.
- Oversees and participates in the evaluation of student’s eligibility for aid, verification of accuracy of applications, the award process, and certification of loans.
- Administers and enforces institutional standards of satisfactory academic progress for aid recipients.
- Completes federal, state, and institutional reports, including FISAP, HEGIS, Pell Grant, and loan guarantee agency reports.
- Plans, formulates, and recommends for the approval of the Dean of Enrollment Management institutional and departmental policy.
- Develops, updates, or revises financial aid resource materials and publications; ensures students and staff receive current financial aid information.
- Chairs financial aid committee.
- Interfaces with Admissions and the University Computer Center regarding the integration, processing, and coordination of information.
- Acts as liaison in representing the university in dealing with financial aid agencies.
- Serves on departmental and university committees as required.
- Attends professional conferences.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree
- Extensive knowledge of state, federal, and university rules, regulations, and policies governing financial aid programs.
- Extensive knowledge of financial aid programs such as NSLDS, Pell, Missouri Grant, and other various programs.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting.
- Knowledge of data processing capabilities and procedures and the use of microcomputers.
- Knowledge of appropriate management and supervisory skills to supervise financial aid staff.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, supervisor, management, and department staff.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of people.
