Position Summary:

 

The Department of Environmental Studies at Gettysburg College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor with specialization in environmental applications of GIS or remote sensing beginning August, 2022. Candidates should be committed to teaching undergraduates in an interdisciplinary department. The successful candidate will teach both introductory, non-majors ES courses as well as upper-level major electives in their area of expertise. The teaching load for this position will be six courses annually (3/3 load), where either a lecture or laboratory section is considered to be one course.  More information about the department can be found at https://www.gettysburg.edu/academic-programs/environmental-studies/

 

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a PhD with specialization in environmental applications of GIS or remote sensing (ABD considered). We welcome interdisciplinary interests and expertise that include (but are not limited to) any of the following areas: environmental justice, landscape ecology, conservation, energy, and climate change. We seek an individual with demonstrated teaching experience, with preference given to those with prior experience in these curricular areas.
