Job Description:

Part-time, non-exempt, non-benefited position for a medical assistant to work at the Health Services COVID Clinic overseeing the COVID-19 testing process for students, faculty and staff of Curry College.  Medical assistant will also provide light administrative coverage and assistance with clinic duties as needed. This is a per diem position providing coverage Monday-Thursday during 2021-2022 academic year.

Essential Functions:

  • Participate in the opening/closing procedures of the COVID-19 surveillance testing site;
  • Setup and breakdown of Covid Clinic testing site and restock supplies at the end the day;
  • Monitor inventory and restock supplies during testing hours daily;
  • Instruct and supervise individuals as needed during testing hours;
  • Process Covid- 19 test samples. Able to collect, label, and process patient specimen to ensure accurate test results and box for transport to Lab;
  • Answer phone calls, take detailed messages and triage to appropriate Covid Clinic staff as indicated;
  • Add individuals to Isolation/Quarantine spreadsheets, provide accurate information and updates. Effectively communicate to Covid Clinic supervisor as indicated;
  • Follow FERPA guidelines & HIPAA regulations;
  • Other tasks as needed at Covid Clinic.

 

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant training and certificate of completion.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to be a team player; support and assist team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with COVID-19 testing. Previous experience in a medical office assisting with patient visits.
