Position Information

Job Title Term Instructor of Forestry: Natural Resource Economics Rank Instructor Classification Title Term Position Summary
This position will be responsible for all aspects of the preparation and delivery of FORS 3050 Natural Resource Economics as an online course within the Department of Forestry, including the preparation and delivery of lectures, assignments, and exams, as well as any and all grading and the assignment of final course grades. This position will also be responsible for maintaining communications with students and advising them in relation to this course and the subject matter dealt with therein, as well as participating in departmental discussions and meetings as needed. Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the instructor of record for FORS 3050 Natural Resource Economics within the Department of Forestry
- Be responsible for all aspects of the preparation and delivery of the assigned course, including lectures, assignments, and exams
- Be responsible for all grading associated with the assigned course, including the assignment of final course grades
- Maintain communications with students and advise them as needed in relation to the assigned course and the subject matter dealt with therein, including uploading course materials to the course page using the university’s online learning management platform (currently Brightspace)
- Participate in departmental discussions and meetings as needed Minimum Qualifications
- An earned Ph.D. in Forestry, Forest Biology, Forest Science, Economics, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated expertise in forestry and natural resource economics

- Experience teaching university-level courses in forestry, economics, and/or related disciplines Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of forestry, natural resources economics, and related disciplines
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively using a variety of media
- Experience with online education
- The ability to effectively design, develop, and deliver university-level courses Work Location Online - Outside of New Mexico
