Job Summary

The School of Nursing at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applicants to apply for a full-time non-tenure-track, clinical instructor faculty position. The nursing program is offered year-round; faculty are given a 9-month academic appointment with potential to work a bonus semester. Position is available at our Tyler campus.

Essential Functions

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Teach on-site nursing courses, conduct clinical experiences for BSN students on the Tyler campus.
• Assist other classroom faculty as needed.
• Mentor and advise students.
• Participate in College and University Service.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Clinical experience nursing.
• Eligible for Texas licensure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing Education.
• BSN teaching experience.

Nursing Program

The highly respected BSN program enrolls over 700 pre-nursing and 680 nursing students each semester.  Average pass rates on the NCLEX are 95% across three campuses located in Tyler, Longview, and Palestine, Texas.  An on-line RN-BSN track provides associate degree and diploma prepared registered nurses opportunity to earn a BSN from an accredited, respected program. A concurrent ADN-BSN program provides current associate degree students the opportunity to simultaneously earn their BSN. Online graduate programs are currently ranked among the top 25 in the country by US News & World Report.  We offer the Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing Administration; MSN in Nursing Education; MSN – Informatics, Quality & Safety; MSN- Family Nurse Practitioner; MSN-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Nursing (Ph.D.) and Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP). Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
