POSITION:

The Department of Social Work at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. Our Core Values are: Service, Social Justice, Dignity and Worth of a Person, Importance of Human Relationships, Integrity, and Competence.

We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in the following subject areas:

• Social Welfare Policy
  
• Social Work Practice with Older Adults
  
• Mental Health Policy & Social Work

• Master's Project/ Research Methods
  
• Social Work Practice with Diverse Populations
  
  This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary.
  
  APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.
  
  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  
• A Master's Degree in Social Work or Social Welfare from a social work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE);
  
• For social work practice classes, at least 2 years of post-master's practice experience;
  
• University-level teaching experience;
  
• The ability to communicate effectively and work with culturally and ethnically diverse populations in community-based venues.
  
  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  
• Social work practice experience with clients of diverse socio-cultural backgrounds in multiple settings;
  
• For social work practice classes, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of California

  COMPENSATION:
  
  All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only. Typical starting salaries for part-time faculty range from $5,075 to approximately $6,055 per semester for a three-unit class.

As a further condition to this offer, you are authorizing our third-party background screening provider to complete its background check as necessary when the courts re-open and are further agreeing to execute, to the extent necessary, any documentation required in order to complete your background check upon the courts' re-opening.
  
  Please note, that continued employment is contingent upon your successful completion of a background screening as required under CSU policy. Faculty rehired at CSUF after a break in service of 12 or more months who have not had a CSUF background check within the past 12 months will be subject to a new background check; rehire is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the new background check.
