Purpose of Position:

The Director for Advancement Services is responsible for implementing the prospect management system, managing the alumni and donor database and overseeing all advancement software.

Responsibilities include preparing alumni & donor reports, systems documentation, records maintenance, utilization of Raisers Edge software, overseeing the processing of all donations, pledges & acknowledgments through the database, reconciliation and transfer of funds to appropriate accounts and the prospect management system. As a database administrator, data governance is a key priority to this position. Position is full time, salaried, exempt. Some weekend and evening hours are required.

Tasks/Duties Performed:

  • Database administrator for alumni and donor database, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, NXT
  • Organize, implement and lead moves management system for development team
  • Attend all key development strategy meetings
  • Working closely with Business office, oversee processing of all donations, pledges, acknowledgments and necessary reports
  • Identify and conduct comprehensive prospect research for new and existing prospects through utilization of resources such as Blackbaud ResearchPoint, Target Analytics and Raiser's Edge, NXT
  • Through participation in the professional organization APRA, this position will be able to promote the contributions and industry trends of prospect research to the alumni and development team.
  • Oversee all advancement resources and software, such as Blackbaud ImportOmatic, Blackbaud EverydayHero and LiveAlumni, provide training to the development team as directed.
  • Oversees Advancement Service budget
  • Develop, maintain and run financial, analytical, and other reports for regular, systemic dissemination
  • Generate address lists and other information accessible from the database for academic departments, committees and division staff
  • Plan, and execute all activities related to prospect research and tracking in current campaign and future campaigns ( i.e wealth screening, campaign reports, data analysis) .
  • Supervise Advancement Services Coordinator
  • Provide prospect research and tracking support as needed
  • Participate in donor funded scholarship awards coordination and stewardship process
  • Represents the IA division on the Daemen College Data and Information Committee
  • Make recommendations, when appropriate and assume other office-wide duties at the request of the VP for Institutional Advancement and the Associate Vice President for Advancement

General Description:

Administer the college's alumni and donor database, and implement the prospect management system.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience with non-profit databases
  • Ability to format and generate reports using the database
  • Make recommendations for maximum use of database; implement as decided by development staff
  • Effectively organize and prioritize workload

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with non-profit databases Ellucian- Colleague Advancement, Raiser's Edge and/or Convio preferred)
  • 5+ years in a non-profit organization

 

BENEFITS/STATUS: This is a full-time, salary, exempt, 12 month. Position is administration/salary and includes full College benefits and professional development opportunities.

Benefits are available the first of the month following the full-time employee's date of hire and include health, dental, vision insurance, and fully paid life insurance. In addition, we offer fully paid long term disability insurance after 3 months of employment. Eligibility for the 403b retirement plan is available to full-time employees upon hire and an 8% employer match after one year of service. Tuition waiver benefits are also available for full-time employees and their qualified dependents.

General Physical Requirements:

Light Work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; desk job with majority of sedentary work sitting roughly 50% or greater of the workday.

Working Conditions:

Climate controlled office setting, but some activities/ duties can occur both inside and outside the office setting.

Post-Hire Trainings:

Various trainings assigned upon hire and annually thereafter by the Office of Employee Engagement.
