The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, benefited, tenure-track position in Computer Science and Engineering with the anticipated start date of August 2022.  

 

A doctorate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field and a commitment to both teaching and research is required. The successful applicant is expected to teach a wide range of undergraduate and graduate computer science or computer engineering courses, advise students, supervise student projects, and establish an externally funded research program. The typical teaching load is three to four courses per academic year. Excellence in teaching and research will be expected. 

  

The department offers an ABET-accredited B.S. degree in Computer Science and an ABET-accredited B.S. degree in Computer Engineering. The department also offers an M.S. degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Department research interests include machine learning and A.I., data science and analytics, security and networking, computer vision and virtual reality, scientific and high-performance computing.
