The University of Washington (UW) Department of Medicine and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Fred Hutch) are jointly recruiting for a full-time faculty member in the Division of Medical Oncology, specializing in clinical research and clinical care of patients with lung and/or head & neck cancer. This position would be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level (without tenure due to funding), commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position would have an annual service period of 12 months [July 1-June 30]. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Teaching responsibilities would involve oversight of housestaff and fellows during ambulatory and inpatient activities and delivery of selected lectures to housestaff and the general medical community. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to participate in ongoing funded clinical and laboratory research programs related to the biology and therapy of cancer. In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity and resources to develop his/her own clinical research program. The position will also involve participation in the clinical and instructional activities of the Division of Medical Oncology. 

Anticipated start date would be May 1, 2022.

Qualifications

The candidate should have a demonstrated record in clinical research with a primary focus on lung and/or head & neck cancer

Requirements include MD (or foreign equivalent), completion of a fellowship in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology and American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) eligible or certified in Medical Oncology or Hematology (or foreign equivalent). In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
