This is a full-time benefits-eligible position. Assist carpenters and/or painters, to include: Rough-in work, including all work prior to the finished product. Hang, tape, and/or repair sheet rock. Install suspended ceilings and replace ceiling tiles. Repair, hang, and install doors and windows. Install and repair floor tile and linoleum. Install towel bars and soap dispensers. Replace door closures. Cut and set glass.
Install and replace guttering. Repair overhead doors. Install fuse links and springs. Replace stair treads and risers. Repair roof leaks. Assemble and finish small projects, as assigned. Education & Formal Training High school diploma or equivalent, Education/Experience substitution (specify) Other Education & Formal Training
-Completion of related trade school may substitute for experience requirement. Computer Skills Other - Basic computer skills Experience
-Minimum six months experience in the carpentry trade. Other Experience Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements of Position: Criminal History check, Driver's license Other Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, & State/Federal Requirements Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Attention to detail, Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal, Human Relations/Interpersonal skills, Physical abilities: mobility/strength/dexterity/balance/coordination/endurance, Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines Other Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
-Ability to learn the carpentry/painter trades.
-Ability to learn to read blueprints and work manuals associated with the trade. Specify sensory abilities: Physical & Environmental Factors: Excessive standing and/or walking, Exposure to extreme temperatures, Exposure to fumes and/or chemicals, Exposure to heights, Exposure to loud noises, Lifting (weight) - 85 lbs.
