Planning and Data Analyst Principal

The Graduate College is seeking a Planning and Data Analyst
Principal to join our technical team. This position works in
collaboration with the Graduate College, University Technology
Office, Enrollment Services, and other academic units in performing
data analysis, development, and reporting in support of campus-wide
strategic planning and management of analysis. Duties will include,
but are not limited to designing business intelligence solutions,
developing complex reports, and creating dashboards to be used for
graduate leadership across campus. This position will supervise
staff that support the Graduate College goals and objectives and
will assist leadership in all aspects of data and analytics.
Business hours for the Graduate College are Monday - Friday,

$65,520 - $95,000 per year; DOE
- Gathers information by interviewing various business units and
writes detailed reports based on research, analysis and evaluation
of data pertaining to specific projects, assessments, conditions or
proposals and recommends action to be taken.
- Works with senior management, technical and functional areas in
order to determine data requirements, business data implementation
approaches, best practices for advanced data manipulation, storage
and analysis strategies.
- Manages analytics projects for Graduate College by preparing
and maintaining project timelines and ensuring project tasks are
- Researches, analyzes, and directs complex strategic
analytics/data program plans.
- Maintains awareness of current graduate and higher education
trends by participating in appropriate professional activities and
contributing to research in the field to implement procedures and
technologies that assure the long-term sustainability and
accessibility of graduate data.
- Develops dashboards and reports to be used for business
decision making and planning in support of graduate
- Supervises staff on Graduate College Data team.
- Designs, develops and uses predictive modeling, statistics,
trend analysis and other data analysis techniques to collect,
explore, and identify the right data to be analyzed from internal
and external sources.
- Securely collects, cleanses, standardizes, transforms and
stores data from various sources ensuring data integrity.
- Serves on committees that create, monitor, control and improve
university data to meet institutional needs.
Master's degree in Behavioral or Social Sciences, Public or
Business Administration, or other related fields and five (5) years
of experience in planning, information analysis, program evaluation
or research; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or
experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities
have been achieved.
- Experience working with diverse populations and cultures.
- Experience designing and developing predictive modeling,
ideally for graduate initiatives.
- Experience researching, analyzing, and directing complex
strategic business intelligence plans.
- Experience developing dashboards and reports to be used for
business decision making and planning in support of graduate
- Experience preparing or coordinating preparation of
administrative reports; analyzing and interpreting statistics and
management planning data for predicting.
- Experience gathering information by interviewing various
business units and writing detailed reports based on research,
analysis and evaluation of data and assessments, and recommending
action to be taken.
- Experience facilitating and providing oversight in the
preparation of requirements, development, quality assurance and
deployment of new business intelligence technology
- Experience managing business intelligence projects for an
organization by preparing and maintaining project timelines and
ensuring project tasks are completed.
- Ability to think at high level and provide strategic guidance
based on data trends.
- Experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled
office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding
