University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Position Summary

Temporary, full time, “non-exempt”, benefited position through 6/30/2022 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).

Location: San Bernardino, CA

Salary: $2,846-$2,931 per month

Department Summary:

WorkAbility IV (WAIV) assists post-secondary students with disabilities with obtaining employment in their major field of study. The program's mission is to provide support through enhanced career preparation services to CSUSB students with disabilities that are also clients of the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). Together, WAIV and DOR, assist participants with overcoming barriers, obtaining gainful employment within their academic major and job retention. WAIV has served over 1,000 students between our San Bernardino and Palm Desert Campuses. The program works collaboratively with the Office of Services to Students with Disabilities (SSD), as both departments are familiar with the specific challenges faced by students with disabilities, and members of both staffs are highly effective in assisting our student population to achieve self-sufficiency through employment.

Work Schedule

40 hours per week. Monday-Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm though some nights, weekend work may be required.

Typical Activities

Under minimal supervision of the Lead Program Coordinator, the Program Administrative Coordinator will work independently to:

The position is responsible for day-to-day operational tasks, the budget, payroll, personnel activity reports, personnel transaction reports, accounts payable, monthly invoices, and travel for the WA-IV program. The PAC compiles WA-IV reports, invoices, and correspondence, answers phones, maintains client, cooperative members, and administrative files and the WA-IV student/DOR client database; files documents; makes appointments; maintains schedules; and coordinates meetings and projects for the WA-IV program. The PAC assists cooperative program members with completing monthly timesheets and the director with updating the WA-IV contract. The position reviews WA-IV student/DOR client status on a monthly basis. The PAC serves as the point-person for the DOR campus liaison. The position ensures that applicants are properly coded to the WA-IV program to include reconciling the client listing, prepares and presents monthly and annual reports related to program and budget goals, prepares monthly invoices, and represents the program at on campus and off campus at WA-IV related meetings. The PAC performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: College degree in a business/management-related field preferred.

Experience: Applicants must possess the equivalent of two years of general office experience.

Additional Qualifications:

Applicants must have a working knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Applicants must have a thorough understanding of office methods, procedures and practices, as well as experience operating standard office equipment. Applicants must be able to perform basic arithmetic functions of a transactional nature, including tracking and comparing data. Applicants must know and understand generally accepted accounting practices. Applicants must possess above average typing skills and be computer literate in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook). Applicants must have a willingness to learn new software packages as needed. Applicants must be self-starters and have the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. The ability to work with a diverse group of people is required. Applicants must possess the ability to coordinate many different clerical tasks, along with the ability to determine relative importance of each, set deadlines, and complete projects accordingly. Applicants must have the ability to travel and provide own transportation. In addition, applicants must possess a valid CDL and valid car registration including adequate vehicle insurance required by UEC policy.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicant must possess the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse campus community to include working with disabled populations. Have the ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations; ability to reason logically; strong basic math skills, ability to use initiative and resourcefulness, pay attention to detail, have the ability to follow through, and familiarity with PC based programs.
