About the Opportunity:
The Director of Strategic Partnerships - Vancouver works as part of a global team to develop effective relationships with new and existing industry partners, both locally for the campus and across Northeastern's global university system.

Responsibilities:
The role specifically focuses on securing key objectives including numbers of industry and experiential learning projects, co-op education placements, philanthropy opportunities, and corporate learning and collaboration engagements. The Director is responsible for the cultivation and growth of a portfolio of company and institutional relationships in the Vancouver region and across BC and Western Canada. In addition, they contribute to guiding the Vancouver campus's career development strategy and career placement targets for program graduates. To meet these responsibilities, the Director actively collaborates with colleagues on campus, in co-operative education, corporate learning (“B2B”), the colleges, and across Northeastern's global university system locations.

Qualifications:
  • 10 years+ work experience in private sector or higher education. Existing relationships with employers preferred; experience in supporting students to secure career placement considered an asset.

  • Proven track record in business development, fundraising, strategic relationship management and/or strategic planning.

  • Appreciation of industry growth trends and workforce development needs, and motivated to make education options more accessible and inclusive.

  • Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and creative with exceptional communication skills.

  • Creative thinker, action-oriented, and versatile, with ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.

  • Proven ability to lead and manage negotiations and to implement productive initiatives that drive value for Northeastern.
