Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity
The School of Health Sciences at Lasell University in Newton,
Massachusetts seeks a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and
collaborative individual to assume the responsibilities of
Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity for a Fall 2022 appointment.
More senior rank will be considered based on experience and other
Lasell seeks faculty and staff who appreciate the value diversity

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence and enthusiasm

college service that includes but is not limited to faculty
standing committee work and academic advising.
Teaching responsibilities include courses in the Cybersecurity
Program and additional teaching assignments where expertise aligns
with program needs. Successful candidates should demonstrate a
strong commitment to teaching excellence, serving as a champion for
the cybersecurity program through positive interaction with
prospective students and the public. Student mentoring, academic
advising at the undergraduate level, and new course development to
support the dynamic and growing area is required. Candidates should
have strong communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment
to collegiality and teamwork.
Our growing undergraduate and graduate programs are looking to
enhance and diversify offerings. The successful candidate will have
the ability to work both within and beyond program specific needs
to shape the on-going development of the curricula offered within
the School of Health Sciences.
Successful candidates will demonstrate an avid interest in
utilizing a project-focused approach to teaching, supporting the
University's educational philosophy, Connected Learning. Faculty in
all disciplines at Lasell may have the opportunity to teach in our
Honors Program as well as the Core Curriculum, which could include
teaching First Year Seminar, a Knowledge Perspective course in one
of four areas, a sophomore multidisciplinary course, or a section
of the junior Ethics Experience. See
Interest in intergenerational issues is also welcome, as this is a
focus throughout the College.
- A doctorate in computer science, cybersecurity, information
systems or a related field of study, with demonstrated expertise in
cybersecurity is required. Exceptional ABD or MS candidates with
teaching and industry experience will also be considered.
- Current cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA
Secruity+) or a commitment to pursuing
- Collegiate-level teaching experience
- Ability to teach upper level courses in the Cybersecurity
- Serve as a research advisor for undergraduate and graduate
- Skillful in attracting, retaining and graduating new
