Campus Planning Assistant

Under the general supervision of the Associate Director, the Campus Planning Assistant (Professional Services Specialist 3, Facilities) is responsible for supporting daily operations in the Office of Campus Planning. The employee will directly support the Associate Director with design and the execution of projects and moves. This position works collaboratively with the campus community and provides excellent customer service to students and employees. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree; two years of professional experience in interior design, in a furniture/design firm setting or in interior project management or planning; and a driver's license valid in the State of New Jersey is required. Preferred qualifications include: a Bachelor’s degree in the field of Interior Design; on path to NJCID and NCIDQ Certification; and experience with space management software and/or systems furniture specification, as well as Sketch-Up, Rhino, Archibus and document control. Higher education experience is a plus. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year for year basis. A Master's degree may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. Candidate must be proficient with AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office and Google. Excellent customer service skills and oral and written communication skills are essential. Essential job functions include driving and moderate physical activity, including walking long distances, standing, bending and/or lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

The selected candidate will be required to pass a four (4) month Working Test Period.
