Major/Essential Functions
Work with Managing Director (MD) to oversee immigration caseload from intake through processing and handle other responsibilities assigned to Immigration & Compliance Services (ICS).
Communicate with employees and management personnel to gather needed information and documents for the preparation of petitions and applications. Draft e-mail correspondence, letters, and documentation to employees, departments, and government agencies.
Under supervision, prepare and file temporary, nonimmigrant and permanent, immigrant visa petitions and applications for sponsored employees utilizing template-based processes.
Typical types of cases: H-1B, O-1, TN, PERM Labor Certification Applications (Regular and Academic), and I-140 Immigrant Visa petitions (EB-1, EB-2 (PERM-based and NIW)).
Review, organize, and prepare petition packets for filing, to include drafting supporting detailed supporting documentation indexes.
Provide updates to employees and management personnel regarding status of immigration matters, notices, and deadlines.
Accurately enter and maintain immigration data, to include tracking multiple deadlines and complete periodic reporting assignments.
Maintain electronic and hard-copy files and documents as required to support all immigration activity on behalf of employees.
Maintain confidentiality of immigration matters handled by ICS.
Serve as Department of State, Alternative Responsible Officer (ARO) for the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program.
Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) for a Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) for the F-1 Student Visa Program.
Develop and maintain knowledge of immigration regulations and requirements.
Assist with the drafting and publication of electronic information targeted to international employees and department contacts.
Assist with internal reviews or audits of immigration-related data, processes, and documents.
Follow up on I-9/E-Verify cases for international employees.
May travel within area of employment for Labor Condition Application (LCA) compliance.
Assist with the management of ICS vendors including deliverables, contracts, and payments.
Assist in responding to immigration inquiries in a timely manner.
Draft employment verification and travel support letters and track inventory of immigration documents.

Preferred Qualifications
The US Government requires that an Alternate Responsible Office (ARO) and/or Designated School Official (DSO) must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Experience with employment-based immigration filings, such as H-1B, O-1, TN, PERM Labor Certification Applications (Regular and Academic), and I-140 Immigrant Visa petitions (EB-1, EB-2 (PERM-based and NIW)). Physician immigration experience a plus.
Experience with drafting and supporting PERM application processes, to include Academic/Special Handling cases.
Experience with F/J/M visa statuses, to include serving as a SEVIS RO/ARO or DSO.
Background in Human Resources and/or recruiting.
Experience working in a higher education environment.
Knowledge of immigration software.
