Loyola University Chicago, Quinlan School of Business

Chicago, Illinois

Loyola University Chicago, a private coeducational, Jesuit, Catholic university, seeks a visionary, innovative, and collaborative leader to serve as its next Dean of the Quinlan School of Business. This is an exceptional opportunity to build upon the successes of a distinctive business school within a university on the rise and lead the School to greater eminence. The Dean will lead external and internal efforts for the Quinlan School of Business, serve as part of a mission-driven values-based leadership team, build enrollments while supporting a capital campaign, and help shape ethical business leaders for generations to come. The next Dean will set new directions and inspire faculty, staff, students, alumni, and business leaders to amplify their social impact locally, nationally, and globally.

Loyola University Chicago is one of 27 Jesuit universities and one of the largest Catholic universities in the United States. It currently enrolls approximately 17,000 students on its three campuses in the Chicago area: Lake Shore, Water Tower, and the Health Sciences Campus (HSC). In addition, Loyola has a presence with the John Felice Rome Center (JFRC) in Italy and the Vietnam Center in Ho Chi Minh City. In the last decade, Loyola Chicago has experienced tremendous growth in virtually every dimension, including undergraduate enrollment, student retention, health sciences innovation, physical footprint, and academic programs. This is part of an effort to support the university in its drive towards excellence in research and teaching with successful student outcomes to achieve its Jesuit, Catholic mission that emphasizes the importance of intellectual curiosity, global perspectives, serving others, especially marginalized and vulnerable populations, and cura personalis, which translates to “care for the whole person.”

The Quinlan School of Business has been a proven leader in business education for nearly 100 years, long known for its ethics-based teaching and research, its service-to-others orientation, and the mission-driven success of its students and alumni. As business schools across the country reevaluate their value propositions in an evolving market, so too must the Quinlan School reimagine itself as a business school of choice in the Chicago and nationally for those who seek the values and social impact of a Jesuit, Catholic education. To help lead the Quinlan School of Business into its next era of excellence, the next Dean will:

  • Execute an ambitious vision for the Quinlan School of Business
  • Be a visible, engaged, and successful fundraiser in support of the School’s vision
  • Innovatively grow the School’s graduate offerings and bolster the Quinlan brand
  • Advance a supportive, inclusive environment that fosters curiosity and innovation for students, staff, and faculty
  • Persuasively advocate for the School while fostering interdisciplinary collaborations
