Job Description:

The College of the Arts seeks an Undergraduate Student Recruitment and Alumni Engagement Assistant to p rovide administrative support to the College of the Arts (COTA) in the area of undergraduate student recruitment and alumni engagement. This position serves as a member of the College’s Advising and Recruitment Team and reports to the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, collaborating with that team and students in the planning and execution of student recruitment efforts, including assisting in the design, creation, and distribution of student recruitment materials, scheduling and implementation of student recruitment events, collecting admission and retention data, and representing the College at recruitment events. Additionally, this position will assist in the development, coordination and support of alumni engagement activities; helping the college research, develop, implement, track and report on activities that both engage COTA alumni with current students and support alumni in their own work.

Responsibilities:

Undergraduate Student Recruitment
  • Research best practices and most appropriate targets for student recruitment appropriate to a College of the Arts, aligning practices with central admissions. Research best practices, develop and oversee implementation and maintenance of a plan to collect prospective student data. Work with existing student ambassador groups to gather feedback on recruitment materials and practices.

  • Serve as a member of the College’s Advising and Recruitment Team. Work with this team to assist in the development and implementation of an annual schedule of recruitment activities, including, but not limited to coordinating the distribution of materials for undergraduate and graduate programs and electronic advertising.

  • Schedule representations and/or represent the college at appropriate events, such as: Santa Fe Gator Days or other campus events. Present at Preview and Florida Days for incoming and prospective students. Schedule, coordinate and assist with campus visits and recruitment events. Presentations and level of travel may vary from year to year.

  • Monitor and report on undergraduate applicant data and as that data relates to recruitment efforts.

  • Assist prospective or current students (and parents) who stop by the dean’s suite, call, or reach out over email.

  • Assist with managing key college-wide student events, most critically the College of the Arts spring Recognition Ceremony

Alumni Engagement: Assist in the development, coordination and support of:
  • An Alumni-student mentorship program

  • Engaging alumni in recruitment activities

  • Working with alumni to determine how the college can support them. This includes coordinating alumni surveys, focus groups, and other means of understanding alumni needs

  • Tracking and reporting on alumni successes and alumni-student activities

  • Working with the College's Strategic Communications team to communicate those successes internally and externally

Expected Salary:

$20.83 per hour; comprehensive and highly competitive leave and benefits package

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The successful candidate will bring to the position:
  • Experience in an office environment

  • Evidence of success in promoting an environment that advances access, equity, and inclusion
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook

  • Presentation experience

  • Familiarity with collecting, analyzing, and presenting data for decision-making purposes
