Position Summary

The ERG Strategic & Operations Manager focuses on building advocacy and managing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and Employee Engagement portfolio of work directly impacting ERG members, leaders, and sponsors. This role is dedicated and directly contributes to creating an environment of belonging where the ERG communities of the College can thrive. This position is responsible for further development and support of the ERGs, including creating and executing strategies, guiding and advising ERG leadership, and ensuring ERGs produce visible business impact. This role also supports other areas of department execution, as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

ERG Program Management & Strategic Alignment


Develops, implements, and periodically revisits ERG strategy to deliver more streamlined operations, effective employee engagement, and increase business impact. Leads the strategy and delivery of enterprise objectives and partners with stakeholders across departments and functions. Supports the development of ERG leaders and members.

Manages ERG budgets, communications, and governance to ensure alignment to DEI and Employee Engagement enterprise objectives.
Works to evolve a robust framework for College ERGs. Manages onboarding and succession planning process for ERG leaders. Implements a development and recognition program for ERG leaders and members. Identifies DEI and HR resources and recommends creative approaches to build benchmarks for ERG operations.

Standardizes ERG operations including goal setting, processes, roles, and measurement. Tracks and measures impact of ERG programs on key DEI and employee engagement strategic goals and metrics. Develops ERG performance metrics and dashboard. Leverages data analytics, where available, to identify opportunities and provide recommendations.

ERG Program Guidance & Organizational Effectiveness

Guides ERG volunteer leaders in developing long- and short-term objectives while measuring team and program effectiveness. Coaches and develops ERG leaders to enhance capabilities and leadership effectiveness. Manages monthly meetings with enterprise ERG leaders and executive sponsors. Uses enterprise insights to assist ERGs to build strategies that add value to members and offers tangible outcomes. Manages calendar of events and partners with communications to increase programming visibility. Supports workload balance for ERG leaders and members.

Policy & Procedure Development

Partners with business units and functions to promote strategies that increase DEI awareness, increase ERG membership, engagement, and embed inclusive concepts into the College. Collaborates with key partners to build relationships which yield increased engagement and membership. Provides day-to-day coaching and thought leadership to business leaders, HR team, Marketing & Communications teams, and the DEI team on employee needs and external social trends. Serves as an ERG ambassador to the College and other key stakeholders promoting the ERG value to better engage with current and future employees. Coordinates and Assists with making recommendations involving ERG budgets including member development, community partnerships, and other spend as identified. Tracks ERG spend and coordinates with the larger DEI & Employee Engagement teams to facilitate budgeting process.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with diverse groups and communities. Partners strategically with Talent Acquisition to ensure the best Diversity, Equity & Inclusion practices are utilized in hiring that results in the hiring and retention of a diverse faculty and staff. Helps to ensure the College meets its responsibilities in identifying problem areas and systemic concerns while reporting complaints alleging discrimination. Takes responsibility for creating a welcoming, inclusive, and productive work environment where all employees feel valued and able to contribute to their full potential, regardless of their differences. Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Attends all required department meetings and trainings. Ensures College name and image is perceived positively by external as well as internal audience/stakeholders. Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the College and business partners.

Employee occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds.

Working Conditions

Typical office environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise typical to business offices. May include traveling to offsite locations to support events.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of: the College and partnerships; standard office procedures and practices; office administration; business English word usage, spelling, sentence structure, and punctuation; business and legal formats.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a closely related field. Three (3) years of experience with demonstrated business results working with employee networks. Proven ability building and leading ERG’s desired. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s). An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.
