Location: Brooklyn, NY

Description:
The Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment at Pratt Institute is seeking a tech-savvy, team-driven, skilled communicator to assist the department in increasing the visibility of student and faculty work through currently-existing web and social media platforms as well as participate in School-wide and Institute-wide plans for enhanced web presence. The Assistant to the Chairperson will proactively contribute to communications and recruitment, two crucial elements of departmental operations requiring skills, initiative, and interdisciplinary approaches. The ideal candidate will be an organized, skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who is a flexible team player with a desire to work in a mission-driven environment. On a typical day you will be required to:

  • Support the administrative needs of the Chair and the directors of the four GCPE programs (CIty and Regional Planning, Historic Preservation, Sustainable Environmental Systems, and Urban Placemaking and Management) to Supervise and coordinate the creation and distribution of GCPE-wide materials aimed at increasing enrollment
  • Implement GCPE's marketing plan, including supervising and coordinating social media. Identifying new outlets for recruitment and maintaining connections
  • Supervising and coordinating systems for managing data at all points along the process of enrollment, from inquiry to admission
  • Creating and managing production schedules for regular publications


Salary: 60k + Generous benefits


Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree; Masters degree preferred.

Experience: Two years of administrative experience, preferably in higher education.

Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and Word, google applications, adobe, social media platforms. Must have demonstrated ability to work independently and juggle several complex tasks simultaneously, as well as have excellent verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills.
