Job Summary

The Drexel University School of Public Health invites applications for a Data Manager based at the Drexel Urban Health Collaborative. The Data Manager will work with the data team members of the project and work collaboratively with the full project team.

Primary responsibilities will initially pertain to supporting the SALURBAL project (https://drexel.edu/lac/salurbal/overview), international collaboration on urban health in Latin America, and an associated project on parental leave and health. The work may transition to other projects based at the UHC as external funding and needs evolve. This position will primarily assist with data management tasks including data linkage, cleaning, harmonization, and quality check of various data files obtained from partner country teams and other sources (vital registration, census, and others), creation of indicators, and update of documentation. This position will also assist with statistical analyses for manuscripts and abstracts for peer-reviewed journals and conferences as needed. The position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual to conduct the above-mentioned tasks.

Essential Functions
  • Assist data management tasks in the project (data linkage, cleaning, harmonization, quality check, creation of indicators, update of documentation, and others); lead some tasks.
  • Assist in the acquisition of data from partner countries and other sources.
  • Implement statistical analysis including multilevel and longitudinal analyses.
  • Aid in preparation of abstracts and manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in data management and analysis.
  • Master’s Degree, Statistics/biostatistics, epidemiology, or related quantitative field.
  • Advanced working knowledge of either Stata, R, or SAS, and basic knowledge of other languages. Willingness to learn other statistical languages.
  • Advanced, detail-oriented, and organized data management skills (linking data files, data cleaning, quality check, data and program organization, documentation).
  • Experience with complex analyses with linear and logistic models. Knowledge of Poisson models, multilevel and longitudinal analyses (experience in these analyses is desirable).
  • Possess excellent oral, written, analytical, task management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented and experienced working with diverse groups of people.
Preferred Qualification
  • Experience in drafting methods and results sections for manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
  • Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese
