Job Summary:

Under the Supervision of Mental Health Services Leadership Team Member, the Multilingual Mental Health Provider will provide clinical services and outreach programming for UW-Madison students with a focus on providing multilingual services to students. In addition to direct mental health service, this provider will develop collaborative consultation relationships with community partners that serve our diverse student population, especially those that serve communities for whom English is a second language. To this end, the Multilingual Mental Health Provider performs the following

-Provides individual and group therapy services;
-Provides services in a language other than English;
-Participates in the provision of clinical crisis services and on-call mental health services (during business hours);
-Provides campus outreach including programming and consultation;
-Responds to campus crises;
-Demonstrates a commitment to providing culturally-responsive services and serving under-represented/underserved populations;
-Additional options for Direct Clinical Services may include:
-Provides integrated primary care behavioral health interventions within UHS Medical Services;
-Provides couple/partner therapy services;
-Provides services in a language other than English;
-Provides supervision of assigned trainees including goal setting, evaluations, and disciplinary action in accordance with training policy and procedures;
-Develops teaching relationships with academic departments; and
-Administers and interprets limited assessment measures.
-Maintains accurate and timely documentation for all clinical interactions and consultations;
-Engages in Health Ambassador relationship with campus entity, often related to area of focus;
-Involved in the development and implementation of programs and services related to focus area;
-Collaborates with providers and staff in UHS units and with campus partners;
-Follows agency policies and procedures consistent with state mental health statutes, ethical guidelines, best practices, HIPAA, and FERPA;
-Attends staff, and workgroup meetings
-Attends MH sponsored professional development activities
-Serves on internal and external committees;
-As resources allow, represents UHS on the UW-Madison Campus, in the Madison community, and with local, regional, and national professional organizations; and
-Other duties as assigned;

Qualifications:

Required: Multilingual (Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, or other language) fluency and 1 year of experience in a mental health setting.

Preferred: Two years? experience in a mental health setting. Minimum 1 year experience with providing therapy in a language other than English. Experience may be through graduate level education.

Strongly preferred experience of the candidate include:
1)Demonstrated ability to provide clinical services, consultation and outreach to diverse undergraduate, graduate and/or professional students in a college health setting
2)Experience in consultation and collaboration with campus or community partners and provision of outreach
3)Ability to effectively serve individuals with diverse social identities and life experiences, with demonstrated interest and experience in serving clients of color
4)Demonstrated attentiveness to intersectionality & health disparities, and commitment to multiculturalism and serving underrepresented populations
5)Experience participating in multidisciplinary teams including health profession and academic faculty/staff
6)Experience in adult mental health crisis assessment, brief intervention, and confidentiality requirements
7)Experience in supervision of trainees
8)Excellent oral and written communication skills
