The Business and Social Sciences Data Librarian provides
instruction and reference assistance for business, social sciences
data, and general research topics. The Librarian provides
consultation and instruction in identifying, accessing and using
resources for business information as well as datasets for
secondary analysis in the social sciences. The Business and Social
Sciences Data Librarian develops online instructional guides and
provides in-person and virtual research assistance. Occasional
night and weekend work is required.
The Research and Instruction Department currently covers three in-person service points: the Main Library, the Science Library, and the Zell B. Miller Learning Center. This position is based in the Main Library, which holds a broad range of materials in the arts and humanities, social sciences, and business. The Main Library is also home to the Map & Government Information Library, the Digital Library of Georgia, and the DigiLab (a digital humanities lab). The Main Library’s Research and Instruction Department is comprised of 10 librarians and 3 student assistants.
UGA librarians are non-tenured faculty members.
