Teaching Assistant Professor in Community Health (Non-Tenure-Track)

Description

The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (http://illinois.edu) and the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health (http://kch.illinois.edu/) are searching for an outstanding candidate for a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor in Community Health. A strong candidate is expected to teach and develop a wide variety of needed courses for graduate and undergraduate students. Areas of teaching interest include health policy, epidemiology, health disparities, public health research methods, public health practice, and health administration. Ability to teach quantitative and aging related courses is highly desirable. There are also some research and teaching expectations.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree in community health, public health, health administration, or a related field. Candidates with strong public health backgrounds are preferred. Demonstrated excellence in college or university-level teaching is desired. Interest and experience in research, curriculum development, current educational technologies, and a strong desire to create new and innovative course materials will enhance an application. Experience collaborating with communities on public health initiatives is desirable. The committee strongly encourages applications from women and persons from historically underrepresented groups.

The Department of Kinesiology and Community Health (KCH, http://kch.illinois.edu): The mission of the Department is to advance and disseminate knowledge related to health, rehabilitation, and human movement using an interdisciplinary approach.
