Summary:

Typical Duties

Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a Procurement Technician to join our team. This position will manage all aspects of departmental procurement activities, including personal reimbursements and travel coordination; responsible for fingerprinting services for the VCU community; enters arrest and summons information into Records Management System.

Minimum Hiring Standards

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Working knowledge of RealSource, university and state procurement policies and procedures. Proficient time management skills. Ability to fit into a team environment characterized by shared accountabilities. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage a variety of projects and to work independently. Excellent ability to communicate and work effectively at all levels within and outside the University. Ability to review documents, accounts and solve problems. Ability to meet strict deadlines. Degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping or other Business-related degree or equivalent experience. Several years experience in accounts payable, customer service, accounting and data entry. Must never have been convicted of a felony, crime involving moral turpitude or domestic violence. Must be able to pass a background check, including fingerprinting. Must have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU. Preferred Hiring Standards

Experience with RealSource and Banner Finance preferred.

Salary Range: $36,000-$40,000
