Job Description:

The Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Disease in the Department of Neurology at the University of Florida is seeking highly talented postdoctoral associates to participate in research projects focused on neuromodulation therapy for neurological and psychiatric conditions including Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, dystonia, traumatic brain injury, pain, Tourette syndrome, and others. The position is supported by federally funded grants awarded to Dr. Christopher Butson and other Fixel Institute faculty.

The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team of experts conducting translational research on several projects, depending upon aptitude and training. The applicant will have the opportunity to develop their research, publication, and presentation skills under structured mentorship from established faculty investigators. The newly constructed Fixel Institute is part of a vibrant research community that includes biomedical engineers, neurophysiologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and neuroscientists.

Expected Salary:

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Minimum Requirements:
  • PhD, MD or MD/PhD, and experience in fields relevant to translational clinical research.
  • Expert knowledge in scientific computing; strong mathematical skills/knowledge.
  • Experience with large integration projects is considered a strength.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are mandatory.
  • A willingness to collaborate in a highly diverse, multi-disciplinary environment is essential.

  • Strong record of productivity from previous training.
