Official Title: Financial Specialist II Business Title: Operations Support Specialist Employment Class: University Staff FTE: 0.5 Compensation: $15 - $21.83 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Terms of Employment: Continuous Position Summary:

Primarily reviews, approves, and advises on a variety of advanced financial transactions. May prepare some financial transactions and reconciles transactions. Recommends controls and process improvements, troubleshoots advanced financial errors. Maintains financial records, provides administrative processing support, and provides customer service for staff and customers in an assigned program area to support program financial management.

Part-time Operations Support Specialist serving UWO Residence Life and the Gruenhagen Conference Center. Position handles cash, electronic payment processing, reconciliations, and compliance issues surrounding revenue collection and deposits. Position works with cash registers also. More hours required during the EAA AirVenture (2nd half of July).

Responsibilities
  • Audits, monitors, organizes, and updates fiscal records, reports, and affiliated materials
  • Creates general reporting for transactions
  • Audits or processes advanced transactions and assigns funding codes in accordance with established rules, regulations, and policies
  • Audits or reconciles original purchase documents with payments
  • Reallocates expenses to appropriate funding strings
  • Drafts communications and advanced reports and maintains organization of varied records to provide administrative support within a specified work unit
  • Answers advanced fiscal questions and provides information based on set materials and standards to various audiences
  • Reviews transaction processing internal controls and recommends policies and procedures
Qualifications Required:

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

High school diploma required

At least 2 years of financial reporting experience

At least 2 years of financial record keeping

Proficient in MS Excel

Preferred:

Proficient in MS Excel with advanced skills

Associates degree in accounting or related field

At least 4 years of financial reporting experience

At least 4 years of financial record keeping

At least 2 years of managing contracts and procurement
