Information Technology (IT) invites applications for a Computer Systems Analyst II to join their team. This position will report to the Manager of ERP App Development in Information Technology (IT), and serve as a part of a team that helps develop database programs in support of our ERP System (Banner). The Computer Systems Analyst II will provide user analysis, database & object-oriented programming, perform troubleshooting and recommend solutions, and provide support to administrative users of various enterprise information systems. This position will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of a relational database structure and programming techniques using SQL, PLSQL, and related database management tools. This position will require an understanding of an object-oriented programming environment and related techniques.

The Computer Systems Analyst II will demonstrate knowledge of a relational database structure and programming techniques using SQL, along with an understanding of object-oriented development and programming techniques. This position will also have a working familiarity with an (IDE) like Eclipse or IntelliJ, along with development experience in N-tier distributed system, experience working with Grails or Java, and experience with GIT repositories.

Required Skills
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming with one or more languages such as Groovy or Java
  • Familiarity with an IDE, such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, or Groovy Grails Tool Suite
  • Experience working with repositories like GIT or Subversion
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a relational database and associated toolset (SQL or PL/SQL)
  • Proficiency with Unix/Linux operating systems and utilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of Apache Tomcat
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; professional customer service skills with the ability to share complex information with others
  • Experience in software design, development methodologies and analysis techniques
  • Ability to learn new technologies and maintain technical currency
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and productive business relationships with others
  • Effective communication skills (including both written and verbal communications)
Minimum Required Experience
  • High School diploma and two (2) years (put experience) experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS or Computer Science and three (3) years of related work experience; or any combination of experience and education that provides the competencies necessary to successfully discharge the duties and responsibilities assigned to the position.
  • Experience in working with a student, Human Resources, or finance information system of a higher education institution
  • Knowledge/Experience working with Ellucian Banner
  • Knowledge/Experience working Web Services, API’s, and other system integration techniques

Position Details

Position Title: Computer Systems Analyst II

Position Number: 480460

Department: IT

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 12 months/year

Salary: $23.84/hrCurrent employee’s rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan and will minimally be this posted salary. For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan, email the Compensation Department . Highly qualified individual may be eligible for higher rate of pay within policy & budgetary restrictions.

Union Affiliation: FOCUS-MFPE

Probationary Period: Six months minimum
