Coordinator of Diversity Recruitment

Job Summary
The Coordinator of Diversity Recruitment facilitates the
University's program of recruiting and admitting students to
Georgia College and State University. Position will involve working
with individuals with diverse backgrounds. Facilitates the
University's program of recruiting and admitting students with
emphasis on underrepresented
and first-generation students.
Responsibilities
Recruitment I - 25
Travels extensively to attend PROBE and other college fairs to meet prospective students and their parents. Answers questions from students and families and disseminates literature while attending these fairs and other recruitment events. Responsible for identifying and analyzing potential targeted geographic areas with underrepresented students who meet GC Admission requirements and working with individual recruiters of each area on strategies for successful recruitment. Building relationships with superintendents of identified high school districts to promote the value of a Georgia College education.

Recruitment II - 25
Working with civic organizations, churches, and other organizations
on educating students on college choice and financial aid
opportunities. Creating a social media presence as well as
recruitment publications to attract the target market. Building
family relationships with potential students to encourage
enrollment with GC. Produces correspondence related to recruitment
events and activities involving prospective students, parents, and
high school counselors. Also composes various letters and other
correspondence that is deemed necessary recruitment
strategies. Responsible for planning, including collaborating
with representatives across campus, and implementing events to
introduce Georgia College to underrepresented and first-generation
students. This includes academic programs, financial aid
assistance, and learning
support.
Reporting - 40
Analyzes various applicant reports to look for trends to guide
recruitment decisions and efforts. Uses data and trends to plan and
recruit in a specific geographic territory and demographic
market.
Creating a pipeline program for later entry to those not qualified.
Enters admissions decisions and other relevant data into student
information system. Independently manages a specific recruitment
territory and is responsible for meeting territory recruitment
goals. Holistically evaluates individual freshman and transfer
applications, transcripts, test scores, and GPAs to make admissions
decisions.
Counsels students and families, including underrepresented
groups and first-generation candidates on the Georgia College
application process and the value of a liberal arts education at
Georgia College. Analyzes various applicant reports to look for
trends to guide recruitment decisions and
efforts.
Administrative Support - 10
Assumes additional responsibilities and duties assigned by the
Executive Director of Admissions and Associate VP for Enrollment
Management.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Other Required Qualifications
Understanding and appreciation of African American culture and
student issues and concerns of this group as well as first
generation students.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Required Experience
3-5 years of college recruitment or equivalent field
experience.

ABILITIES
Ability to use independent judgment in making admissions
decisions.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of university admissions requirements.
SKILLS
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and communication
skills, and polished public speaking. An appreciation and
understanding for marketing and sales from an educational
perspective.
Familiarity with computers and software, especially BANNER Student
Information System. Proven driving skills, a good sense of
direction, and a solid familiarity with the state's highway,
roadway, and interstate system.
Effective communication skills and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and communication
skills, and polished public speaking.
