Job Summary

The Cyber Security Engineer monitors, analyzes, detects, and responds to cyber events and incidents in an automated capacity; and is responsible for implementing and maintaining information technology security solutions in support of the information security program at Drexel University.

This position is tasked with responding to identified threats both in real-time and by developing and maintaining tools to more effectively identify threats from logs and other sources and implement mitigations in actual incidents. Innovative thinking and judgment is required to develop new methodologies in response to evolving threats including evaluating relevant risks posed by different incidents.

The Cyber Security Engineer will also help in using SOAR tools to develop playbooks with the rest of the operational security team and to implement automated responses to security threats; and will participate in security projects as directed by the information security program road map to mitigate information security risks at the University.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Five to seven years of cyber security experience
