Job Summary

The Assistant Director for the Raj & Kamla Gupta Governance Institute is responsible for managing the promotion, development, and operations of the Institutes’ research, programs, and initiatives. Reporting to the Director of the Institute, the Assistant Director in addition works with the Stratakis Academic Chair, and the Academic Director of the Center for Nonprofit Governance to build and sustain positive relationships with the Gupta Governance Institute’s Advisory Board, practitioners, faculty, investors, staff, and students.

The Assistant Director will execute programs to continue to maximize the visibility of the Gupta Governance Institute brand to potential and existing investors, program participants, and business practitioners.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and execute program topics and materials and provide oversight in the marketing of the programs to the appropriate target markets
  • Support the Director with recruitment for the various programs
  • Assist the Director to secure funding from investors to support programs and Institute initiatives and activities
  • Manage co-op students and volunteers
  • Development of budget and provide budget oversight
  • Develop, execute, and manage marketing for the Academic Conference
  • Provide complete logistical oversight of the marketing and virtual space requirements of the Academic Conference
  • Develop, execute, and manage marketing for the Nonprofit Seminar Series
  • Provide complete logistical oversight of the marketing and virtual space requirements of the Nonprofit Seminar Series
  • Record, design, and edit video content for distribution on GGI’s website and social media
  • Fully develop detailed standard operating procedures and work plans for programs requiring cross-functional collaboration
  • Gathers and reports on appropriate operational metrics
  • Network and develop strong relationships with high-profile corporate directors, C-Suite leadership, institutional investors, proxy advisors, regulators, and other governance experts to engage in research and programmatic efforts
  • Identify corporate directors as prospective participants to attend educational programs
  • Conduct phone calls to assess qualifications of potential Institute program candidates and Subject Matter Experts
  • Execute the strategic plan of the Gupta Governance Institute
  • Work with external speakers and the Interim Director to build the foundational processes needed to execute the strategic positioning and audience development initiative
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, PR, Communications, HR, or Business Administration from an accredited four-year university
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience
