Position Summary
The Educational Technologist will provide technical application support for online and hybrid courses delivered through the School of Professional Studies, as well as for internal team processes that leverage technology to create new efficiencies. This position will also have the chance to develop solutions directly affecting the quality and improvement of courses and internal team processes. In addition, this position will serve as a liaison on behalf of the SPS to the University's academic technology and IT departments.
Responsibilities

This position will consult with the instructional design and online support/academic technology staff to match educational goals and objectives with the appropriate technology and delivery methods. S/he will support course design by building and implementing educational technology solutions; and will support internal team processes by developing productivity-enhancing technology solutions (e.g., automation of repetitive workflows). As a result, this position should have strong front-end development skills in HTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design, version control (Git), and testing & debugging.
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Online Support and Academic Technology, the educational technologist will participate in creating responsive design templates for course sites to help ensure quality, consistency and success in online teaching and learning. Additionally, s/he will support initiatives related to end-user training and e-learning support.
Finally, the educational technologist will be responsible for monitoring trends in technology and media tools related to education to increase the effective use of technology across the SPS academic landscape.

Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills; a solid and current knowledge of instructional technologies/media; experience with web-based conferencing and productivity tools; video/audio production experience working with university faculty in technology training; willingness to investigate and recommend new technologies; upbeat and curious attitude.
Specific skills for this position include:
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred, as well as a degree in educational technology or a related discipline. Strong communication skills and experience in online learning is highly preferred.
