The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor to join the Division of Rehabilitation Psychology & Neuropsychology. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. This position would have an annual service period of 12 months (July 1-June 30) renewed annually, and the individual selected may begin as soon as January 1, 2022, subject to timely approvals and credentialing. 

Clinical duties will include delivery of rehabilitation psychology services (e.g., psychotherapy, consultation) in our outpatient Post-COVID clinic and both inpatient and outpatient services on our burn and pediatric trauma unit. Services to the post-COVID unit include psychotherapy and facilitating outpatient groups. Services to the burn unit include inpatient assessment and treatment of both adult and pediatric patients with burn injuries. Duties also include providing consultation to the multidisciplinary team. 

Outpatient services include brief interventions and psychoeducation as well as longer-term therapy. The selected candidate will be expected to provide care for the many populations served by The Division of Rehabilitation Psychology & Neuropsychology, including patients with post-COVID symptoms and multiple sclerosis, as well as traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, burn injuries and brain tumors.

Opportunities are available for supervision of psychology predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees within our APA-accredited internship and fellowship programs, as well as lectures at the graduate/medical school level. Opportunities also are available for mentorship, career growth, and leadership. The individual hired for this position will work with marginalized and culturally diverse communities and with trainees holding a range of worldviews.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a PhD or PsyD  or foreign equivalent from an APA-approved clinical psychology graduate school program and also must be licensed or license-eligible in the State of Washington.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
