Clinical Assistant Professor, Early Childhood Education

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) invites applications for a faculty position at the Clinical Assistant Professor level for the Early Childhood Education program. This is a non-tenure track position and will begin Fall 2022. 

Duties:

• Teach four Early Childhood Education courses per semester at the undergraduate or graduate levels.
• Contribute to the development and growth of the Early Childhood program, and provide service to the program, university, and profession. 

1. Doctorate in Early Childhood Education or related area with a minimum of 18 graduate hours specifically in Early Childhood Education
2. Early childhood related teaching certification.
3. At least three years of full-time teaching experience as teacher of record at a public or private school with students from diverse backgrounds.

Desired:

Demonstrated record of undergraduate teaching excellence as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.

Proficiency in the integration of technology to support teaching and learning as well as knowledge of theories and pedagogy associated with adult learning.

Demonstrated effectiveness in serving diverse student populations as well as demonstrated effectiveness in leadership roles.

Engagement in professional organizations focused on serving young children from diverse backgrounds.
