POSITION SUMMARY:

The School of Pharmacy Clinical Training Coordinator is staff member. The incumbent must Coordinate Clinical placement for the School of Pharmacy. Responsible for the general administrative tasks as well as assisting with the daily program operations, addressing student and preceptor requests and needs, administering and manage the experiential education database. The incumbent must assure that the South University philosophy: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position. Incumbent will be responsible for administrative duties of preceptor recruitment and retention, clinical rotation scheduling and assisting the Experiential Education Assistant Dean/Coordinator with clinical phase program evaluation


KEY JOB ELEMENTS:

  • Provide general overall operational and administrative support for the Experiential Education Program
  • Assisting the Experiential Education Assistant Dean/Coordinator in the continuous review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the clinical rotations.
  • Assisting the Experiential Education Assistant Dean/Coordinator in the acquisition of clinical sites for education.
  • Serving as a member of the accreditation review committee by performing periodic clinical program assessments to determine compliance with accepted educational and accreditation standards.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's or Master's Degree (preferred) that is applicable to the field (i.e. Health Care Administration, Pharmacy or Public Health).
  • Two or more years' experience in higher education in academics or administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations.
  • Outstanding conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills
  • Computer based skills (i.e., software, analytical, and report writing skills)
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines.
  • Ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse school/campus constituents.
  • Ability to develop and complete projects without continued direct supervision


ENVIRONMENT:

The individual must be able to travel out of the local area with an occasional overnight stay to participate in a variety of conferences and meetings.
