Kennesaw State University invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor of Integrated Health Science faculty position in the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education beginning August 1, 2022.  

 

The Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education seeks a faculty member who can provide leadership and teaching support for a growing Integrated Health Science major as well as instructional capacity for the Public Health program. The bulk of duties will fall under the area of Integrated Health Science.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching and actively sharing their knowledge and expertise
  • Identifying potential internships
  • Serving as an internship/capstone/program coordinator
  • Developing and teaching health science courses
  • Representing the department as a community liaison for engagement
  • Tracking alumni
  • Mentoring and advising students in field-based learning experiences

Required Qualifications Include

  • Applicants must have at minimum an earned doctorate, or a foreign equivalent, in public health, health services, health policy/management or a related area.
  • Candidates must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication and teaching skills, experience collaborating with others, and experience in supervision.
  • Candidate must be active in serving the discipline through professional service.

 

Preferred Qualifications Include

  • Successful teaching experience at the college level in an area related to public health, health policy, health studies, health management, respiratory therapy, or a related area
  • Current or recent experience in higher education
  • The desire and expertise to cultivate partnerships for internships and experiential learning
  • Familiarity with experiential teaching methods in all types of course modalities
  • Evidence of strong commitment to student success; (i.e. mentoring and advising)
  • Experience with students learning outcomes assessment
