Department of Instructional Leadership & Professional
Development Assistant Professor
Tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of
Instructional Leadership and Professional Development beginning
August 2022. Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Educational
Policy, Curriculum Theory & Development, Professional
Development, or a related field; substantive, successful teaching
experience in a Pk-12 setting; leadership in public school
settings; demonstrated commitment to equity and social justice
issues; and evidence of or potential for a successful scholarly
publication record. (Preferred) Significant leadership experience
in public school district(s); experience in teaching at the
graduate level. The applicant should have scholarly expertise and
interest in school leadership for equity and social justice,
including a deep understanding of leadership practices for social
justice and a dedication to creating equitable, accessible, and
inclusive school environments for students from all communities.
Applicants should demonstrate a record of or potential for
teaching, scholarship, and service in these areas. Teach graduate
courses in educational leadership from an equity perspective to
practicing teachers and school personnel; may also teach
undergraduate course in related areas of expertise; supervise
leadership interns during field-based internships; collaborate with
colleagues across the college and region; and be current in
educational technology and digital teaching and learning. Carry out
a research agenda in educational leadership for social justice.

COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS AND COMMUNICATION
Department of Dance
Assistant Professor, Dance (two positions)
Two tenure-track, Assistant Professors in the Department of Dance
beginning August 2022. Terminal degree required. A depth of
technical practice and pedagogical skills in ballet or modern or
contemporary styles of movement and experience teaching advanced,
pre-professional dance majors. Experience in choreography and a
committed practice to exploring, advancing these processes and
practices to support shifting constructs in 21st century dance.
Interest in contemporary aesthetics of movement, cross cultural
connections, and emerging trends in dance performance,
choreography, and education. Demonstrated abilities in teaching in
higher education, and a record of creative and/or written
scholarship. Position carries a 3/3 course teaching load with
responsibilities for required courses in the BFA in dance
performance and choreography. We encourage applicants with
experience in diverse cultural perspectives. The department is
seeking individuals with a specialty in recognized pedagogies or
emerging forms. Additionally, experience in dance education, dance
history, or dance science as secondary interests, and an interest
in global perspectives, innovation, and collaboration. Service to
the department and active engagement in creative activity and

COLLEGE OF HEALTH PROFESSIONS
Department of Health Sciences
Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, Gerontology
Program Tenure track Assistant Professor or Associate
Professor in the Department of Health Sciences beginning August
2022. Candidates pursuing the rank of associate professor should
have 6 years’ experience teaching in higher education or comparable
qualifications and demonstrate a clear and active line of
scholarship with outcomes. Area of specialization is open. Salary
is competitive and includes state benefits package. Research
doctoral degree in Gerontology or closely related field (successful
ABD applicants will be appointed at the instructor rank and all
degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2023). Strong
commitment to excellence in teaching and internship supervision.
Demonstrated success or potential to teach gerontology at the
undergraduate level. Demonstrated scholarly potential to develop a
strong body of aging focused research involving a collaborative
interdisciplinary approach to investigating a wide range of issues
faced by a diversely aging society. Primary responsibilities for a
9 month academic year include: 1) TEACHING - research active
instructors teach 6 courses a year. These may include in
introductory gerontology providing core knowledge in the social,
psychological and health domains of gerontology, and may include
long-term care, geriatric health and healthcare, death and dying,
gerontological management and other areas of adult gerontology.
Effective student advising and mentoring are essential to a highly
diverse student-centered program; 2) SCHOLARSHIP -
development/continuation of an independent, focused area of
scholarship that includes refereed publications, professional
presentations, potential for external funding, and to support
collaboration among faculty and students; 3) SERVICE – active
service to the Department, College University, Profession and to
internship supporting area healthcare organizations. Review of
