In addition to providing administrative oversight of Field Education for the MSW Program, the successful candidate will teach courses and field seminars in the MSW and/or BSW program according to contractual workload assignments. Five hours of office hours are required per week. In addition, the faculty member is required to engage in various scholarly activities and provide service to the University and Community.

Position Summary
Slippery Rock University invites applications for a full time, tenure track Social Work Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health and Social Work beginning August 2022. The successful candidate will: 1) provide administrative oversight of Field Education for the MSW Program, 2) teach courses and field seminars across the BSW and MSW social work curriculum, 3) demonstrate scholarship and research activity, 4) advise students, and 5) serve on department, college, and university committees and engage in community activities as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications
1. An MSW from an approved CSWE – accredited program
2. A minimum of 2 years of post-master’s social work degree experience.
3. A DSW or PhD in Social Work and work experience with field education.
4. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the education of diverse populations.
5. Successful performance in an on-campus interview, including a teaching demonstration. Preferred Qualifications
1. Prior college teaching experience and proficiency in teaching online courses
2. Knowledge of advanced social work practice and field education
3. Project management skill
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office
5. Knowledge of grant writing
6. A record of research/scholarship activity
7. Pennsylvania Licensed Social Worker (license-eligible)
