Position Summary Information

Position Summary
Slippery Rock University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology beginning August 2022. The faculty member’s primary teaching responsibilities will include Anatomy and Physiology I & II . This individual may also be required to teach lower-level biology major courses, and non-major courses for our general education program. Additional teaching responsibilities may include courses in an area of specialization. Must exhibit a commitment to excellence in teaching in a Liberal Arts setting, establishment of a productive research program in the candidate’s area of expertise that will involve undergraduates, and membership/contribution to department, college, and university committees. The department expects faculty to conduct research leading to publication in peer-reviewed, professional journals in the applicant’s area of expertise. Minimum Qualifications
Broadly trained animal physiologist, PhD must be completed by July 1, 2022. Evidence of professional competence, and ability to work productively with students and colleagues. Commitment to the education of diverse populations. Successful performance in an on campus interview, including a teaching and a research presentation. Preferred Qualifications
At least one year of undergraduate teaching experience, evidence of teaching effectiveness. Experience teaching Anatomy and Physiology preferred.
