Director of Marketing Communications Academic Affairs

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
The Director of Marketing and Communications for the division will lead and supervise all aspects of the organization's marketing, branding and communications initiatives. Area of responsibility includes; direct and support a multi-disciplined staff, manage a budget maximizing campaigns with minimal expenditures, and ensure the brand is compliant and supports Utah Valley University's primary brand in collaboration with University Marketing. It will primarily support the office of the Provost, COED, and Engaged Learning. Must be a proactive individual with a demonstrated level of creativity in promoting the needs and objectives of the multiple departments and stakeholders within Academic Affairs. Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline plus three years of staff level experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling seven years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Key Roles and Responsibilities 35% Lead and manage a team of designers and marketing professionals to implement divisional marketing, branding, web, and social media and design initiatives. 30% Implement comprehensive campaigns including; consultation with the client, project management start to finish, design, budgeting, billing, monitoring, and assessment of effectiveness. 15% Collaborate with divisional team members and university marketing to ensure brand compliance, campaign awareness/effectiveness, implementation of strategy and monitoring of all campaigns. 20% Other integrated projects as directed to integrate the work of Academic Affairs with central marketing, Institutional Advancement and other divisions. Skills: Management of integrated marketing campaigns. Demonstrated skill in writing executive communications.Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities. . Dedication to detail, organization, and an eye for good design. Strong project management skills.Demonstrated relationship building skills and networking in a business setting. Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling seven years.

Advertising Agency or In-house marketing department experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in a normal office environment.
