Job Description

Under administrative direction, performs work of considerable difficulty in coordinating and directing the activities and functions of multiple programs, ensuring that the goals and objectives of the programs are accomplished. Responsible for the day-to-day management of ASU's TRIO SSS programs, including planning, training, coordinating and providing general leadership and vision to TRIO staff.


Salary Range

$48,960 - $51,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

  • Supervises the activities of subordinates.
  • Supervises and facilitates the development of high impact training materials, training content, training delivery modes, or workshops, meetings and conferences with program/project participants and program tutors;
  • Develops, monitor, and coordinate unified SSS program activities.
  • Directs the recruitment of participants.
  • Supports the administration of multiple TRIO Programs in collaboration with TRIO Programs Leadership and Educational Outreach and Student Services.
  • Provides for goal setting and program evaluation and supports data collection for appropriate reports to the designated supervisor.
  • Leverages institutional resources and efforts to enhance the TRIO student experience.
  • Ensures effective and efficient use of personnel and resources in the administration of program activities.
  • Supervises performance and development of program staff as needed.
  • Participates in National and Regional TRIO leadership opportunities.
  • Participates in outreach opportunities to educate community members about TRIO Programs.
  • Attends professional development opportunities to enhance program success.
  • Serves on University wide committees that enhance the TRIO student experience.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field AND five years administrative/coordination experience; OR, Master's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND three years administrative/coordination experience; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to develop proposals for external funding of projects.
  • Experience in planning, budgeting, implementing and evaluating projects.
  • Knowledge of processes to conduct needs assessments.
  • Skill in designing training materials and presentations to meet needs assessed.
  • Ability to implement training, session reviews, and follow-up procedures.
  • Knowledge of processes for dissemination of results through presentations, reports, and publications.
  • Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and establishing and facilitating work teams.

  • Use computers effectively – including inputting, reviewing and retrieving information
  • Work collaboratively across various departments and campuses within the University
