Position Summary

The Department of Geographyat the State University of New York, University at Buffalo, invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor with an appointment to begin either January 2022 or August 2022. Review of applications will begin on December 10, 2021, and the position will remain open until filled.

This is a full-time, renewable term, non-tenure-track faculty (10 month) appointment, with an emphasis on teaching. We seek a colleague who can teach courses in Economic Geography at the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as contribute to the department’s courses in general education. In addition to our general human geography curriculum, we have a unique International Trade degree program that includes international business, trade and development courses.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Geography or a closely related field and demonstrable teaching and student mentoring experience in Economic Geography. Other responsibilities may include developing online curricula, participating in on-going curricula development, and representing the department in recruitment, fundraising, alumni development, and community outreach efforts. The applicant will be expected to teach up to four courses per semester based on programmatic needs, reduced if significant administrative or advising responsibilities are given. Additional teaching and salary opportunities may exist during winter and summer sessions. A competitive salary is provided.
