The University of Missouri (MU) College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) is dynamically growing and changing. We are searching for individuals to join our team who share our commitment to teaching excellence, exceptional service to students, and continuous quality improvement in an environment of civility and respect.

 

The Department of Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum, at the University of Missouri is pleased to announce an assistant level teaching professor (non-tenure-track) in early childhood education. We seek a colleague who can help us extend and expand our commitment to the education of young learners in preschool, school, and other settings. This position offers opportunities to contribute to the programs in early childhood education.

 

Primary responsibilities include contributing to the early childhood teacher certification program (birth to 3rd grade); developing and teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in early childhood education (online and face-to-face); mentoring and advising students in the early childhood education programs; participating in faculty governance with the Department, College, and University; and providing service, outreach, and leadership to the University, educational institutions, agencies, and professional organizations.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications include an earned doctorate in early childhood education or a related field by time of appointment.

 

Candidates will be evaluated on the following factors:

(a) Experience teaching in preK or primary settings (or equivalent experiences);

(b) Experience teaching and advising at the higher education level; and

(c) Experience working collegially with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Appointment: Non-tenure-track, nine-month appointment beginning September 1, 2022.
